“It was great to have the chance at the workshop to apply in in practice the principles we learned to posture and transition. I learned things at this workshop that I can immediately apply to my teaching. Anthea Sweet is very knowledgeable and approachable and welcomes questions.  A useful and enjoyable day!” K.S. Watch Interview - Julia Davis interviews Anthea Sweet about Anatomy Applied

Course Outline:

For yoga teachers keen to extend their knowledge of anatomy and apply it on the mat.
With a combination of anatomy and breathing theory, practice of asanas/sequences and group work we will explore anatomical principles through our own experience and plan your strategies for implementing what you learn:
  • How to apply centre of gravity, weight distribution, breath mechanics and lines of force to develop your students’ structural balance and stability alongside stretch work
  • Teaching tips to encourage your students to build awareness of their own body mechanics and the difference between challenge and overworking
  • Developing lesson plans with anatomical focus within a yogic framework
  • Communication, cuing and adjustments to activate good grounding, balance, core stability and use of the breath

These events will take place via zoom with additional material provided by Anthea.
