"I have already recommended this course to some yoga colleagues - I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was really well presented and good value for money. I liked the mix of styles that Jane and Julia both brought. Having been trained by Uma Dinsmore-Tuli myself, Julia built on the knowledge I had already got from previous training, while Janes's Embodied Yoga Principles background brought a totally fresh element to the learning for me. It has been great - thank you."

Teaching Somatic Yoga – 7 week Facilitator Training
This training is designed for yoga or pilates teachers / therapists, to give an understanding of somatic movement from a bio/psycho/social perspective, and how to bring it into their work . Each session will consist of experiential theory (your body is your laboratory of learning!), discussion/sharing of process, and practise.
You will gain:
- An understanding of the principles of somatic movement.
- A felt experience of somatic movement in your own body.
- How these can be a benefit from a bio/psycho/social lens.
- How to work with somatic movement through a trauma-informed lens.
- Experience of how somatics can be brought into yoga practises through movement, breathwork and relaxation.
- Learn about interoception, exteroception and proprioception and why these are useful practises to cultivate within yoga and how they impact life off the mat.
Bringing somatic practises into our yoga can breathe new life and creativity into our teaching, whilst allowing our students to discover the deeper realms of the somatic world of sensations, feelings and emotions and all that offers .
Somatics allows the body to sense and move rather than being imposed on. This creates fertile ground for deep nervous system regulation, self-awareness, emotional wellbeing, playfulness and pleasure. It has the potential to waken up those more forgotten parts of our body and discover different ways to move and feel.
A somatic practise creates a sensitive and gentle container for working with stress, anxiety, burn out, fatigue, post illness and life’s transitions and change.
How does it work?
It is a 7 week online programme with one integration week. There will be time for reflection throughout the course so that you can integrate what you are learning and start to bring it into your own personal practise and with your clients.
This is an interactive and experiential course so attendance is key.
If sessions are not able to be attended you are encouraged to book a one2one with me to catch up on the interative component of the content.
Each week there will be home practise set and you will be encouraged to use the online platform to share your experiences with your cohort of peers.
Certificate of completion of the course on 80% attendance in person and home practise completed.
6 weekly 2 hour online sessions via Zoom on Tuesdays

"I've joined 2 workshops, both on the female pelvis, and I like the way Jane teaches. She makes any notions accessible, information are well organized and broadly discussed giving the group the chance to interact and share ideas. You'll have the opportunity to connect with your body by simple movements and a variety of tools she uses to better understand how the body works and its relation with emotions. If you want something that goes beyond yoga to deepen your knowledge and to give your clients the chance to explore their bodies in different ways, these workshops can be the tools you're looking for."
