Course Outline:

2021 feels like a perfect time for deepening connections and building peer support within the Yoga Teachers Forum.  In this perimenopausal world connecting with other teachers has been a life line for me and I would like to create more opportunities for you this year.

It is with this in mind that we are creating a 6 months mentoring group for yoga teachers who specifically work with women as they face the major thresholds of life - whether that is supporting their daughters through menarche or stepping through to menopause and beyond.

Mentoring & supervision is integral to so much therapeutic work and I have found that giving myself this support has been essential in not reaching burn out - an all to common problem for people who choose to hold space for others.

We are inviting you to join monthly mentoring sessions to address what is coming up for you as a yoga teacher of women.  This could range from teaching challenges, balancing work with other commitments, business challenges & difficulties within the class setting.  You may be looking to work in a particular niche.  The sessions will be embodied and will involve building skills you can take into your working life.  It is a responsive and interactive experience which will also build your own mentoring, listening & embodiment skills.

Numbers will be capped at 12 to ensure personal attention from both myself and Jane.

Cost - £192 (£32 per session) - payable in advance (there is also the option to pay in 2 instalments). The sessions will take place on zoom and due to confidentiality will not be recorded and there is no refund or moving session if they are not attended.  There will also be an additional commitment of creating and maintaining a listening partnership throughout the duration of the 6 months mentoring programme.

Current timing options are:

1230-1430 Monday UTC (and UTC+1 when clocks change) UK Time

Dates: Wk 1 Feb, Wk 1 March, Wk 19 April, Wk 17 May, Wk 7 June, Wk 5 July.

Mentoring & peer support has made a huge difference to my life a a yoga teacher.  We look forward to welcoming you into this circle of support.

About the facilitators:

Julia Davis

Julia is a yoga teacher and mentor with over 20 years of experience. Her area of expertise is women’s health - specifically supporting women through menarche - as tweens and teens, fertility, menstrual issues, peri-menopause, menopause and post menopause. She trains yoga teachers so they can safely care for women in their classes and feel comfortable with using appropriate anatomy terms while teaching. Her trainings and classes are open to all. She is also a yoga & menstruality mentor and works with yoga teachers to help them to realise their professional dreams through following their hearts path in a practical and professional way.

Julia is the Founder of Yoga Teachers Forum and is passionate about bringing yoga teachers together to learn, share and support each other. She is an advocate of “listening partnerships” and has found the partnership she has very supportive in her own journey as a mother and sole practitioner.
