Feedback from Jane & Julia's Events

"I thoroughly enjoyed this training. Jane and Julia ran a tight ship, so all content was covered. There were several opportunities to share with the other students, which bonded the group. The extra resources were exceptional, and all were available after the course, as were the tutors. All the students felt very supported and well informed. Thank you xx"

Kate Coulson, Attendee, Perimenopause Training June 2021

"The class on a Monday was a great way to start the week and set the tone. The online platform is a great way to navigate everything and not get distracted. Thank you for it all!!!!"

We invite you to join us to mark the winter solstice with a reflection on 2021 and looking forward to 2022.  We will dive deep into the energy of the wintery darkness to look back over the year and reflect from a personal as well as a professional perspective.

Within the spirit of the winter solstice, the longest night of our calender, we will set our vision on the light that is waiting for us around the corner -and look forward with intention to the year ahead. We will also have the opportunity to reframe the idea of "new year's resolutions" in the context of cyclical renewal, honouring the cycles of the year, the month, the week, the day and the breath.

Together we will use embodiment practices and meditation to look back on 2021.  This workshop will give us the opportunity to:

  • Reflect on the time from summer soltice to winter solstice through embodied yoga and mindfulness practices
  • Acknowledge our challenges
  • Enjoy our high points
  • Come to acceptance and grieve our losses

We will have the opportunity to:

  • Use meditation and embodied movement practices to look forward to 2022
  • Reflect on the different feeling of planning for a year and making small intentions based on the lunar calendar
  • Address our longings for the future from both a personal perspective and related to our intentions for our yoga practice & teaching

This workshop will give you a flavour of the forthcoming mentoring programme with Jane & Julia and is also an opportunity for all of us to gather as a community as this year comes to a close.  Do wear comfortable clothes and bring paper, pens and colouring pens for journaling.

YTF will donate £5 to The Eve Appeal for every booking.

Feedback from yoga teachers who've attended Jane & Julia's previous training:

"The course exceeded my expectations! It provided theory, different models of the perimenopause and beyond, movement and breath practices, poetry and different readings and articles related to Peri-menopause and Menopause . As participants we shared our ideas through the discussion forum, sharings and practices in the sessions which was also hugely valuable. Jane and Julia led the group with sensitivity and enthusiasm, allowing there to be space for our contributions. Thank you so much."

Rebecca Paterson, Attendee Perimenopause Training, Oct-Nov 2021

"A superbly well put together training course with the perfect balance of practice, theory and group conversation. Way and above exceeded my expectations and has offered me a radically different way to view my own experience of the perimenopause and as a result, a different lens to offer to those that I work with.  I really apprecaited being able to attend a weekly class, that was just a huge bonus that I found so nourishing and supportive. To receive the practice, to step out of the head of the student and to be nourished and cared for in that way, for me was profoundly transformative. It allowed the content to land in a way that no one has ever managed to date. Seeing my self care as being a seasonal process is life changing, I knew this of course, and had been taught it before, but somehow it did not land in a way that I felt able to embody it.
Charlotte Doughlas, Attendee Perimenopause Training, Oct-Nov 2021

Course Certification

Although this training draws strongly on our own experiences of perimenopause as cis-women we want to create space for trans and non-binary people who experience menopause too, and the experience of cis-men as they go through their own midlife transition.  We welcome all yoga teachers & therapists to our training.
